Pride month and black lives matter

As owner of this blog and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am here to wish everyone a happy and safe pride month, and I am also here to uphold the fact that we must always be proud and supportive of our siblings of colour. The icons of our salvation, our revolution and our freedom are trans people of colour; Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Riviera.

They threw the first bricks at the systems of authority that have worked to oppress us and keep our voices silent over the decades. The first 'Pride' was a riot that would kickstart the long road to our freedom, which is arguably still not completed.

So support our siblings of colour who now find themselves in the same fight our queer ancestors fought many years ago. Fight alongside them, and fight for a better world where BLACK. LIVES. MATTER.

It is disgusting how the police system treats people of colour and we need to riot in order to raise awareness for change.

I did not want to post a post like this because i don't have experience of what it is like for a person of colour and cannot fully empathise but i can offer my support at Black Lives Matter protests as an ally!

A few UK charities people can donate to to support LGBTQ+ people of colour are Rainbow Noir based in Manchester , the BAME LGBTQ+ charity in London and Colour Youths in the North East.

Lots of love and stay safe, make sure to look up safety precautions when protesting !
